People use artificial sweeteners when they are trying to lose weight, avoid raising their blood sugar, or looking to keep too much sugar out of their system.

Health-wise, there are fears extending to cancer and diabetes among other ailments.

Some of the common artificial sweeteners are Aspartame, Saccharine, Cyclamate and Acesulfame potassium. They are used in several beverages and then few sugar 100 % free gum and reduce calorie desserts.

There are two main types of sweeteners

What Are the Benefits of Artificial Sweeteners?
They are calorie friendly, hence great for managing weight.
Shelf-stable: artificial sweeteners do not ferment as regular sugars. Which makes it ideal in some processed food.
Artificial sweeteners: Artificial sweeteners are made from pure sugar, it is a cheaper cost because the use of limited laboratory equipment so that the User supplier has got all the benefits.
Sweeter taste: They are far sweeter than natural sugars, so they can be used in smaller amounts.
Downsides Of Artificial Sweeteners
Health Concerns:
In fact, some studies have linked long-term use of artificial sweeteners to an increased risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, obesity and certain types of cancer. But Reich thinks more study is needed to determine the health risks posed by sweeteners.
Sweeteners are good and bad for you. Provide a low calorie substitute to sugar which helps regulate blood sugar and assist in weight management.
They can lead to stomach upset and cause several health risks too. Instead, you are better off with natural sweeteners including good old honey or maple sugar. They are calorific in nature but blood sugars can be affected.
