There is no getting around the Dominion of Jurassic World, so we might as well get to the point. Human cloning and the continued existence of dinosaurs, two of its predecessor's most intriguing ideas, are puzzlingly dropped.

The latter is eliminated in a retcon to make Jurassic World Dominion more about motherhood and parenting than the moral ramifications. However, this time a writer-director isn't deviating from the established plot, unlike the interval between Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

With Jurassic World Dominion lookmovie, Colin Trevorrow—who also wrote and directed Jurassic World: the Fallen Kingdom—is working against himself. But a much worse crime is that Jurassic World Dominion gives up on the potential of the latter.

It concentrates on what it may be like for humans to coexist with dinosaurs, something that the two shorts before it hinted at and purportedly promised. Instead of being set in our world. the ten-minute film Battle at Big Rock and the unnamed five-minute "prologue," which is no longer included in the film.

The majority of Jurassic World Dominion takes place inside a remote dinosaur refuge that is managed by a global organization that is only interested in making money from it. If the last installment of your trilogy doesn't show us how the globe and its various civilizations are approaching dinosaurs in various ways, what's the point of naming it Jurassic World?
