His only chance of surviving when one of these agreements is in danger is to be elevated to the role of Chief Financial Officer, a post he is confident he will obtain with the aid of some nepotism. Johan and his socialite wife, Diane, have a rocky marriage at home (Tessa Zuber). Together, they have a tumultuous relationship with their disobedient teenage daughter Nikki (Zoe Snyden), who thinks them to be horrible parents and quits school to hang out with her wealthy, black singer boyfriend Cecil (Cephasihale Wazi). There is a xenophobic subtext buried somewhere in all of this. A South African businessman named Doco Wiseman (Fellow Cotello) chose to lease another establishment but changed its name to Adze (Thamsanka Bui). Nigerian who is sincerely attempting to pass was punched. He gathered locals who shared his resentment over a foreigner missing his chance and went about attacking Nigerian and Zimbabwean migrants with his company. Another subplot is included inside that one: Dinoco's daughter Plaza (Samke Makhoba) falling in love with Adza and using their hurried romance as a springboard to talk about the problem of cinematic xenophobia.
Certain individuals serve as a link between these subplots: Dinoco pays homage to Bra Soul, and the secondary characters from the Xenophobia subplot only appear in the car accident that gives the movie its title. Additionally, the destruction brought on by xenophobic attacks results in broken traffic signals. It's challenging to weave together the diverse range of tales that make up a movie, and the way the unique narratives of all the individuals are looped together falls short of the directors' intentions. I can understand what the filmmakers are trying to do, but I can't hold it against those who can't. The point of this movie is quite challenging to comprehend.
Even at the tale's unusually sluggish conclusion, such as a car accident, it is tough to get invested in the plot since there isn't much excitement or suspense for a crime thriller. Both the crime and the conspiracy elements are ridiculous. The storyline involving Bra Sol and Johan includes the mention of bribes, a corrupt mayor who Bra Sol is working with to establish a sizable school for gangsters, and the trafficking of young girls. But none of these elements ever come together to do anything, and we never learn the true nature of the relationship between Bra Sol and Johan. In fact, the entire film is plain ludicrous. The movie tries to give some backstory through conversation because the events take place over barely two days. However, fragments of knowledge seem persuasive. It's confusing that Bra Soul's mother, with whom he evidently has a good connection and who has made him proud and respected, only knows stories about his way of life given that he appears to be an established gangster.
