Mark Harry's blog : Tel Aviv Israel - A Fusion of Modernity and Authenticity
Tel Aviv is a world-class city with beaches, nightlife, and culture. But what makes it unique is its fusion of modernity and authenticity.
One of the best ways to experience Tel Aviv is on a guided tour. This way, you will not miss anything.
Beaches
If you love sunbathing on the sand or splashing around in the water, you’ll find Tel Aviv’s beaches offer just what you’re looking for. Stretching over 14 kilometers along the western edge of the city, this coastal strip is filled with beaches to suit every taste and preference.
There’s a variety of beaches to choose from, with plenty of beachside eateries to fuel your cravings for a great meal and a relaxing ice-cold beer. Some of the most popular Tel Aviv beaches also have lounge bars where you can sip a cocktail and enjoy the view of the glistening sea and awe-inspiring architecture that surrounds it.
Another famous Tel Aviv beach is Metzitzim, known for its modern facilities, including bathrooms and a sheltered playground. Its central location and excellent amenities make it a popular choice among locals, especially families with children.
Nightlife
The nightlife in Tel Aviv Israel is gaining more international fame every year and it's becoming one of the best European nightlife destinations. It has a range of bars and clubs to suit all tastes and interests, from large mega-clubs where you can dance all night to sophisticated neighborhood bars and hipster spots.
There are tons of clubs to choose from and most nights are pumped with music from different genres. Some even feature live acts.
When the night is over, you can enjoy some light laughter at comedy shows that are hosted in clubs like Mike's place and Malan 18. You can also visit karaoke places where you can sing your heart out to your favorite songs with your friends.
If you want to go clubbing without breaking the bank, South Tel Aviv (or Florentin as it's called in Hebrew) is a good place to head. This neighborhood is undergoing gentrification and it has a wide variety of clubs, bars, and restaurants.
Shopping
Tel Aviv is a huge shopping city and offers an excellent mix of shops to suit every taste. From traditional small backstreet workshops selling tailoring, haberdashery and milliners, to multi-storey modern malls and shopping streets.
A range of international labels are available in many of the more modern stores, as well as a fantastic array of local designers, individual retailers and boutiques. The mix of goods is a key reason why metropolitan Tel Aviv remains a popular shopping destination.
The newest of the Tel Aviv malls is the TLV Fashion Mall which combines an ideal location with a quality pool of tenants. It also has a great mix of flagship and trending brands from Israel.
Museums
Tel Aviv is home to a wide variety of museums, each with its own unique offering. Whether you’re traveling on business or vacationing with the family, you’ll be able to find something to interest you.
There are many different types of museums in Tel Aviv Israel, from modern art museums to funky science-themed museums. Each has its own unique offerings, and some even feature cool features like a planetarium!
If you’re looking for the latest in Israeli art, check out the Rubin Museum. This leading art center houses an excellent collection of paintings by Israeli artists and a small number of works from other countries as well.
Another popular museum is the Eretz Israel Museum. This is a must-see because it offers a fascinating archaeological and historical experience through exhibitions.
There are also three museums dedicated to national armies that fought for Israel’s independence and protected the Jewish residents from pogroms. The Etzel, Palmach and Lehi museums display testimonials from activists who partook in these organizations, as well as documents, photographs, weapons, presentations, pictures and films about their activity.
