If you’re bored of your wardrobe and want to look a bit more stylish, we have some great fashion tips for you to follow. Look fabulous in every season and always know what to wear, no matter the event.

Choose the right underwear

Underwear can change the shape of your body and your overall look. A poorly fitting bra or obvious seamline in underwear can ruin all the effort you’ve put into creating your outfit. Choose underwear that fits well, and get a bra fitting where possible so you can support your breasts properly and avoid backache. For pants, go for comfortable underwear that brushes over your body; seamless options are a good choice for tight-fitting trousers. Always check to see if you can see your underwear before leaving the house in your outfit.

Look after your clothes

The easiest thing to do with your clothes is to stick them all in the washing machine at the same temperature and hope for the best. However, this will often ruin items, whites will become dull and faded, and colours could run into other clothing. Not to mention your knits could shrink and be ruined forever. Your clothes should be washed and dried according to their individual care labels. Take extra precautions with any delicate fabrics, and always wash white items together. If you look after your clothes, they will look much better, and you can wear them for longer.

Invest in quality

Quality clothing is more costly than cheaper items, but you can really tell the difference. The fabric and stitching last longer, you’ll get more wear out of them, and they really improve your overall look. Where possible, try to buy fewer high-quality items over clothing you’re only going to wear once. Not only will you look much better, but you’ll also be helping the environment. Fast fashion is bad for the planet; large amounts of clothing waste end up in landfill sites, and they leak plastics and chemicals into the ground, which can end up in our oceans. In addition, the process of creating cheap fashion items creates greenhouse gases that slowly damage the environment. If you can buy high-quality, sustainable clothing and avoid fast fashion, you can help yourself and the environment.

Keep your wardrobe organised

Women's fashion is typically seasonal; you’ll change what you wear depending on the time of year. It, therefore, makes sense to organise and go through your wardrobe once every three months. You can take out items no longer relevant to that season and put them away for storage. You can also go through and add items to your wardrobe from your storage collection. This helps reduce your choice and makes deciding what to wear easier. If anything is damaged, remove it and take it for repair. Items that no longer fit can be sold online or donated. This can make room for new clothing you want to purchase and wear.

Keep true to your style

Fashion trends come and go, but you’ll always have your own unique style that represents your personality. This is what your fashion choices should be based around, don’t sway away from your favourite pair of jeans or leather jacket because they’re no longer in fashion. If you love your outfits and feel comfortable and confident wearing them, nothing should stop you from wearing them for years to come.

Stop impulsive shopping

If you’re the kind of person who loves a bargain and can’t walk past the sale rail without adding something to your basket, then you’ve got to stop. Buying your clothes because they’re cheap is the worst way to dress. Instead of spending money on loads of poorly fitting clothing, you’ll do better saving up that money and buying quality clothing that fits you well and makes you look great. Try on everything before buying and ask yourself if you really love the item or if it is just appealing because of the price. We can all get carried away at sales; if you’re particularly prone to buying things you don’t need when they’re cheap, you might want to avoid the sale rack altogether and instead only go shopping for clothes when you need a particular item.
