A virtual reality office tour will soon be a normal thing to do.
These days companies that understand the power of internal branding are giving virtual office tours on Periscope and Facebook Live. Live streaming an office tour is a great way to engage potential candidates, as you walk from department to department candidates can ask questions and get a better insight into its daily activities.
Live streaming requires a lead, it could be one person walking around the company filming themselves as well as chatting and engaging at the same time, or an easier option is two people, one filming the other while they signpost and cast to their audience.
Live streaming is still a very new way to promote the company to candidates, but sometimes it misses that polished feel, but because of the nature of live streaming you wouldn’t outsource it to professionals.
Now there’s another way to give a potential candidate a tour of the company, and it’s Virtual Reality (VR) Just imagine someone putting on a headset and being able to get a complete tour of the company they’d like to work for and feel as if they're actually there.
They would be greeted as they entered the reception, showed where they would sit if they come for an interview and even have the interview process explained to them. After that, they’d get a tour and meet the head avatar of each department. A virtual reality tour could be a very polished experience and would be favoured by big organisations.
As technology progresses even the interview will be done in Virtual Reality, wherever you are in the world, you’ll be able to attend an interview virtually in the same room with the interviewer, as long as you keep your headset on.
