BASIC RULES FOR THE OPERATION OF FLAGPOLES
The flagpole is the post required
to raise the flag. They are made from wood, metal and
plastic. Depending on the size and scope of application, flagpoles are
divided into the following types:
1) desktop (integral attributes of large
companies, government organizations and other business structures; made of
plastic and metal),
2) floor-standing (installed in government
agencies; made of wood),
3) automotive (have a U-shaped base; made
of plastic that does not leave marks and scratches on the surface of the car),
4) stationary (the structure can consist
of several sections, interconnected by special bushings; flagpoles allow you to
install not only horizontal, but also vertical flag panels; made of metal),
5) wall-mounted (in addition to corporate
identity, they are also often used for outdoor advertising or announcements;
one of two types of fastening is used to fix the flag cloth: a cord and a
bollard or fastening to a mast with a loop; flagpoles can have one or three
rods),
6) telescopic (flagpoles are compact and mobile; used at sports competitions or concerts; the height of the structure can be changed at the request of the customer).
GENERAL RULES
FOR THE OPERATION OF FLAGPOLES
When choosing a flagpole, it is important to understand in what conditions the structures will be used. So, for outdoor installation, wooden or metal flagpoles are perfect. At conferences and round tables, structures made of metal and durable plastic will add presentability. But do not forget about the general rules for the operation of flagpoles, which will allow you to use the structure as long as possible.
1. The flag must be attached to the cord (cable) with
carabiners.
2. The masts must be transported unassembled. All
parts must be securely packed and not subject to damage to the integrity of the
structure.
3. Flagpoles should be kept dry. When laying the
assemblies of flagpole masts, it is allowed to store no more than ten rows in a
film with transverse shifting of wooden spacers.
4. It is necessary to assemble and mount flagpoles in
strict accordance with the instructions attached to the product.
5. Construction and installation work during the
installation of flagpoles must be carried out by companies that have the
appropriate license.
6. Do not install the flagpole in a place with moving or
soft ground.
7. The canvas of the horizontal flag can occupy no more
than 1/3 of the height of the flagpole, and of the vertical one - no more than
2/3 of the height of the flagpole.
8. Preventive maintenance of the flagpole mast must be
carried out at least twice a year.
9. When the wind speed is above 20 m / s, the flag must
be lowered.
FEATURES OF MOUNTING STREET FLAGPOLES
Street flagpoles are stationary or
mobile masts up to 12 m high. High masts are fixed by installation in the
ground by concreting the embedded fasteners or mounting on a concrete block.
Choosing the right location for
your flagpole will maximize the presentation of your company's branding or
product advertising. In this case, it is necessary to take into account
not only the visibility of the installation site, but also the technical
characteristics of the mast installation. Thus, the distance between
several flagpoles should be calculated as two widths of the flag plus ½ m. The
distance between the building and the flag should be at least 2 meters.
Concrete bases and fixing bolts
must be installed in such a way that the principle of straightness is
observed. Pay attention to the perpendicularity of the installation of the
anchor bolts.
There are two ways to mount street
flagpoles:
1) concreting and installation of
embedded fasteners,
2) on a concrete block.
Let's consider both of these options in more detail.
INSTALLATION OF
FLAGPOLES WITH EMBEDDED FASTENERS
This method of installing a street
flagpole takes place in two stages.
The first stage is preparation. The surface is
prepared for concreting. If the flagpole is to be installed on the
asphalt how here greatyardmaster.com, then the top layer is removed with a jackhammer. To do this, you
must provide access to the power grid or generator.
After that, a hole is dug 1-1.1 m
deep, 60 * 60 cm long and wide. There should be no communications underground:
pipelines, cables or drainage systems. Also, above the installation site
of the flagpole at a height of 10-12 m, there should be no high-voltage wires,
trees or other structures that can create problems when installing the mast.
The second stage is installation . When the preparatory
work is completed, concreting and installation of embedded fasteners
begins. Before concreting, you need to decide whether the formwork will be
on the same level with the surface or the podium will be placed above the ground. The
podium height is usually 10-20 cm.
The process of concrete hardening takes up to three days on average. After that, the mast and flag are installed directly.
MOUNTING
FLAGPOLES ON A CONCRETE BLOCK
This installation option is the
fastest in terms of time, since there is no need to wait for the concrete to
harden. First, a place is chosen for the future flagpole, a concrete block
with a mast is delivered to it. The manipulator sets the blocks in
accordance with the customer's scheme, and then you can immediately put the
mast and hang the flag.
With this option for installing
the flagpole, you should also not forget about safety precautions: trees and
high-voltage wires should not howl above the high mast - they should be located
at least 3 meters from the mast.
